# Permissions

Each permission gives specific access and rights. Generally speaking, if a permission gives management rights to a section (Lives, Collections...), a member with a role containing this permission can access the section in question, **even if it is disabled.**&#x20;

## Create & manage Lives&#x20;

A member with a role containing the `Create & manage lives` permission can :&#x20;

* **Create a live** from the `New Live` button on the Lives page or the `Duplicate` button on a live's card.&#x20;
* **Edit a live** from the `Settings` buttons. He can modify all the characteristics of the live: confidentiality, video settings, liveroom settings, participant management and notifications. He can also delete the live.&#x20;
* **See the dashboard** in the liveroom (the tables don't show the email column and are filtered on members with an `Accepted` status). He can also send a bulk message.&#x20;
* **Manage live participants**&#x20;
  * Tables do not show the email column.
  * Tables are filtered on members with an `Accepted` status.
  * If the role is `Limited to specific groups`, tables are filtered to members belonging to the selected groups in the audience scope.
  * **Invite Spot members and groups** to the live event via the `Invite participants` button (with or without email notifications).&#x20;
  * **Uninvite** members by selecting them in the participants list.&#x20;
  * **Send a bulk message** to participants of your choice.&#x20;
* **Manage groups** invited to live events&#x20;
  * If the role is `Limited to specific groups`, the list of groups is filtered to the groups selected in the audience scope.
* **Manage live speakers**&#x20;
  * Tables do not show the email column.
  * Tables are filtered on members with an `Accepted` status.
  * If the role is `Limited to specific groups`, tables are filtered to members belonging to the selected groups in the audience scope.
  * **Invite Spot members as live speakers** via the `Invite speakers` button (with or without email notifications).&#x20;
  * **Grant host rights and highlight the speaker.**&#x20;
  * **Send bulk messages** to speakers of your choice.&#x20;

Please note that for this permission, there are 2 possible options that impact the lives for which the member will have these rights:&#x20;

* Live creation is possible regardless of the option selected.&#x20;
* For lives management, depending on the option selected, the member will not necessarily be able to manage all the Spot's lives (for more information, see [here](/english/manage-spot/audience/user-rights/manage-roles.md#create-a-role)).

## Create & manage courses&#x20;

A member with a role containing the `Create & manage courses` permission can :&#x20;

* **Create a course** from the `New` button on the Courses page.&#x20;
* **Edit a course** from the `Settings` buttons. Modify all course features, such as participant management and notifications. He can also delete the course.&#x20;
* **Manage course participants**&#x20;
  * Tables do not show the email column.
  * Tables are filtered on members with an `Accepted` status.
  * If the role is `Limited to specific groups`, tables are filtered to members belonging to the selected groups in the audience scope.
  * **Invite Spot members and groups** to the course from the `Invite participants` button (with or without email notifications).&#x20;
  * **Unenroll** members by selecting them in the participants list.&#x20;
  * **Send bulk messages** to participants of your choice.&#x20;
* **Manage groups** invited to the course&#x20;
  * If the role is `Limited to specific groups`, the list of groups is filtered to the groups selected in the audience scope.

* Course creation is possible regardless of the option selected.&#x20;
* For courses management, depending on the option selected, the member will not necessarily be able to manage all the Spot's courses (for more information, see [here](/english/manage-spot/audience/user-rights/manage-roles.md#create-a-role)).

## Create & manage Collections&#x20;

A member with a role containing the `Create & manage collections` permission can :&#x20;

* **Create a collection** from the `Create` button on the Collections page.&#x20;
* **Edit a collection** using the `Edit` button. They can change all the characteristics of the collection: name, description, confidentiality, and document order. You can also delete the collection.&#x20;
* **Create a document** using the `Create` button on the Collections page.&#x20;
* **Edit a document** using the `Edit` button. You can modify all the characteristics of the document: name, cover, tags, status (Draft or Published), URL (for `Links`) and page content (for `Pages`). You can also delete the document.&#x20;
* **Manage collection members** if it is private&#x20;
  * Tables do not show the email column.
  * Tables are filtered on members with an `Accepted` status unless the role also contains the `Invite members to join the Spot` permission
  * If the role is `Limited to specific groups`, tables are filtered to members belonging to the selected groups in the audience scope.
  * **Invite Spot members and groups** to the collection from the `Add members` button in the collection members side panel (with or without email notifications enabled).&#x20;
  * **Uninvite members** by selecting them in the participants list.&#x20;
* **Manage groups** invited to the collection&#x20;
  * If the role is `Limited to specific groups`, the list of groups is filtered to the groups selected in the audience scope.

* Collection and document creation is possible regardless of the option selected.&#x20;
* For collection and document management, depending on the option selected, the member will not necessarily be able to manage all of the Spot's collections and documents (for more information, see [here](/english/manage-spot/audience/user-rights/manage-roles.md#create-a-role)).

## Moderation&#x20;

A member with a role containing the `Moderation` permission can :&#x20;

* **Delete** messages, replies to messages, topics and replies to topics.&#x20;
* View and manage the **moderation panel** (accessible from a button located between the profile button and the notification button in the top bar):&#x20;
  * Open report details and process them (i.e. either approve or reject them)&#x20;
  * Send warnings to authors of reported messages.&#x20;

#### Notifications:&#x20;

The user is notified in the application and by email when a message or topic is reported.&#x20;

## **Invite members to Join the Spot**

A member with a role that includes the permission to `Invite Members to Join the Spot` can:

* Invite members to the Spot using the `Invite` button in the member directory.
* Choose, at the time of invitation, whether or not to notify the invited members and edit the notification template.
* View the email addresses of all members in the Spot (from the member’s profile and in the search bar).
* If the role also includes permission for a specific section of the Spot (e.g., Lives, Courses), the member can also access the email addresses of other members from the various participant tables.

#### **Notifications**

They receive an in-app notification whenever a new member joins the Spot.
