👋Mentioning a member

If you want to notify a member of a new message, it couldn't be easier: just mention them!

To mention a member from a discussion channel or thread, there are two options:

• Write "@" in the text field and enter the first few letters of the member's first name to find them.

• Click on @ below the text field.

Linked notifications

When you send a message mentioning a member, the member receives two types of notification:

• An in-application notification: this is displayed in the Messages tab of the Notification Center. Clicking on the notification will take the member to the chat channel where they were mentioned.

• Email notification. If the member has activated this feature in their settings, then they will receive an email within 15 min of the mention (if they haven't seen the mention in the meantime).
