# Preview as a member

In addition to the generic AI Coach test, you can preview your AI Coach exactly as a specific member of your Spot would see it: their access rights, their resources, their history.

{% hint style="info" %}
This feature is being rolled out gradually across Spots, and requires the MeltingSpot extension installed in your browser (👉 more information [here](/english/coach-ai/set-up/meltingspot-extension.md)).
{% endhint %}

### Starting a preview

You can start a preview from your Spot or from the browser extension.

**From your Spot:**

1. From **Settings > AI Coach**, Playbook tab, click **Test AI Coach**.
2. In the test window, click **Open preview as a member**.
3. Choose the playbook to preview, then search for and select a member (any accepted member of the Spot, including yourself or another admin).
4. Click **Open preview as a member**.

A new browser tab opens on the chosen playbook's site: the AI Coach runs there exactly as the selected member would see it.

From the browser extension:

1. Open the extension popup and click **Preview as...**

### What's restricted in preview

* The fallback (redirect to a human) is disabled.
* Navigating the displayed content is disabled.
* A "Preview as \[member name]" badge stays displayed on the AI Coach, with a cross to quit the preview.

{% hint style="success" %}
A preview is read-only: it does not change the profile, conversations, or real data of the chosen member.
{% endhint %}

### Changing member during a preview

From the extension popup, on the tab where the preview is running, click **Change member** to relaunch the preview on another member without closing the current session.

### Quitting the preview

Click the cross on the "Preview as \[member name]" badge, or **Quit** from the extension popup.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.meltingspot.io/english/coach-ai/configuration/preview-as-a-member.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
